Wum Council Counts Achievements With 64.3% Realization In Revenue

During the 2014 administrative and management account session that took place on Thursday March 5, 2015, Councilors of CPDM run Wum Council did count achievements after being presented with a litany of projects realized for examination and adoption.  In the just ended financial year, Wum Council realized FCFA 331.606.446 of the projected budget of above FCFA 600 million given 64.3% in relative terms in 2014 financial year, has beaten its own record of 2013 with less than 35% revenue collected then. According to the Mayor, Dighambong Anthony Mvo, the expenditure also witnessed an increase to the tune of FCFA 327.454.681 represented in the projects realized. There were sharp increase in local collection and the decentralized public investment credits for 2014 for Wum Council.
The Council working with speed of light is said to have provided office equipments, desks to schools, recruited 13 grade I teachers to primary schools, extended electricity and water to some quarters and at the health center, requisite a plot for Wum cattle market, provided roofing sheets in two schools, renovated the slaughter house and Ukpa Health center, Rehabilitated the WADA road planted 5000 trees in the Kom/Wum forest reserve, recruited 44 students to do holyday job, maintain the road from Naikom junction to the SDO’s residence, constructed a security wall round the Wum market, Constructed classrooms, completed a study for the construction of an ultramodern Town hall with an elevator making it next to non in the region. The council also has train two persons to manage the compressed brick machine, train three staffs at CEFAM, purchased a four wheel drive pickup at CAMI-Toyota, a website now.
In line with the Head of State vision for Cameroon come 2035, Wum Council under Mayor Dighambong is already putting place mechanism in order not to be left out in the emergence thus; a motor mechanic workshop has been realized at GTHS Wum, Realization of 30 open sheds for Bu market. In appreciation the Mayor applauded the staff of Wum Council and collaborators especially the SDO for Menchum, Mr. Benoit Emvoutou William for his usual inputs on development issues. Having moved from 32% realization in 2013 to above 64% with all salary situation regularized, is a step towards the right direction and the perspective for 2015 would surely go beyond 100%. He said.
Senator Wallang David Akwo who also attended the session did approve of the giant strides made by this team of Councilors under Mayor Dighambong Anthony. As CPDM campaign manager during the election that ushered in this new team, the Honorable Senator expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing realization projects in Wum which makes him proud and saying Wum Council has been given a facelift in all aspects which shows that the team in place is living up to their campaign promises and would surely realize all before the end of the mandate. Talking on other project for Menchum, the Senator revealed that a meeting on the take off of the Menchum hydropower project was ongoing and in a matter of months physical works on the projects would be feasible. The Senator ended by condemning the barbaric activities of the BOKO HARAM sect in the North saying Menchum was one of the first to stage a march against their activities. He called on all to lend support to the Cameroon army fighting at the forefront to clean out those bastards trying to destabilize a peace loving country at a time the country is aiming at an emergent economy come 2035.
