Abubakar Mejinyewa (Babayo)
CPDM Youth President D/M IV Section
The newly elected Section Youth
President for Donga Mantung IV in Misaje, Abubakar Mejinyewa alias Babayo has
had his baptism of fire from sympathisers of the social democratic front SDF in
Misaje. With the backing of handful of his comrades who could not muster the
courage to challenge him during the reorganization of the party given his
popularity, he is now being accused of haven cross carpet from the SDF in to
the CPDM and elected YCPDM President for Donga Mantung IV Section.
According to a publication by a local
news tabloid “Shong”, SDF militants are still expecting an official resignation
from their party. When Eden contacted the Section President for reaction, he
said, those allegations are unfounded and baseless. He insisted that he has
never been an SDF militant in the first place to start with and that the time
he was still contemplating to go in to serious politics, a friend Isaac Maah of
the SDF party spotted his seeming
interest and came to him for his support
in a bid to vy for the council in 2013. Haven come a long way he Abubakar
Mejinyewa reluctantly did so, but reminded Isaac Maah in advance that, “I am
supporting you not the SDF party so do
not rely on me when I make my choice of a political party when my time comes.”
This to the best of his understanding his friend Isaac Maah understood with
him.
That is how he, Abubakar Mejinyewa
came close to SDF militants and at times accompanied his friend to some of
their rallies which gave him the opportunity to understand the mindsetof SDF
militants and their goals in politics. These he did not buy given their
appraoch to issues with no concret solutions invisaged. Hear him, “After the
2013 municipal election my friend did not make overpowered by the strength of
the CPDM in the area so I told my friend that my time has come to move on and
make a choice in politics which I went for the CPDM party as a registered
militant and today an elected Youth President. If I am being accused today of
haven not resigned from the SDF which I was neither a member nor a registered
militant then it is full hardy of them. This to me says it all, that those
propagating such allegations do not even master what it takes to belong to a
political party. If at this point in time SDF bigwigs in Misaje , can not
differentiate between a sympathizer of a politician and a militant of a party
and more so if they do not know their militants through registration and still
depends on crowds at rallies for support then it is unfortunate.”
