entire board with Musa Shey Nfor as President. Some 2300 delegates from all
Bapccul branches in Cameroon registered present for the exercise last January
9, 2016 at the Presbyterian Church center in Bamenda.

sweeping majority vote representing 99.7%. This time around Ngu Regina Timbong
who was just a board member moved up the ladder and took over the vice Presidency
from Tumasang Florence with 2168 votes while Elvis Ngwang maintains post of BOD
Secretary with 2140 votes. Tallah Jackson was maintained as supervisory
Committee Chairman. The election was in line with new OHADA law that was
adopted by 17 African countries since 2012 which all Credit Unions affiliated
to Camccul opted for a mandate of three years renewable twice.
Other deliberations that
characterized the day’s was the budget for 2016 that stood at FCFA
1.976.337.921 against the projected FCFA 1.843.569.608 and realizing FCFA
1.718.346.935 in 2015. According to the General Manager of Bapccul, Ngum
Godlove, the innovation brought in to the budget is a head to handle cooperate
social responsibilities which is 40% of the total shares. The credit union in
2016 is projecting to invest FCFA 227.600.000 in the area
computerization/computers, security reinforcement, rehabilitation and new
branch offices, electrical generators, cash safe, transport equipment and
office equipment and furniture.
With the rapid growth witnessed in
the savings from FCFA 10.514 Billion in 2014 to FCFA 13.398 Billion at end of
2015, members had FCFA 727.568.977 as interest to be shared at more than 5%.
This growth is attributed to some factors such as; high level of member
confidence, huge increase in number of salary earners through Bapccul having a
salary code, dynamism and ease of deposit withdrawals and improvement in
inter-branch withdrawal, and internal money transfer. Bapccul happens to be the
first Credit union to have introduced widely acclaimed ATM cards usage to ease
transactions.
The President elect, Musa Shey Nfor
thanked the Credit Union members for the renewed confidence promising not to
disappoint the General assembly. He reported that last year Bapccul
participated actively in the burial and memorial services of some very
important personalities within the Credit Union. Mama Juliana with account
number 001 died and was grandiosely escorted to her final resting place in
Njinikom while the father of the
umbrella organization Camccul was also remember in Kumbo.
