Given the fierce battle between the Cameroon soldiers and the
Boko Haram insurgents in the North recording many civilian casualties as
perpetrated by several suicides bombing as witnessed of recently as orchestrated
by the extremist sect, the government of Cameroon has been advised to change
strategy. The government once held it self high as a good negotiator when
French, Chinese and Canadian Citizens were captured by this same group after
over four successful bargains rescuing the captives. The Social Democratic
Front Party SDF which is
Cameroon’s main opposition party has challenged the
government of Cameroon to penetrate Boko Haram through these negotiators who
have been dealing with the insurgents in the rescue mission.
According to Chairman Fru Ndi, it would be a waste of time
and resources beating about the bush when they are person within government
circle that have had previous meetings with members of the Boko Haram and can
safe the country of this trouble of chasing shadows. The use of guns and
soldiers in uniform only help Boko Haram agents to carry out successful operations.
SDF chieftain says in as much as the soldiers are doing a credible job there is
need to change modus operandi and use soldiers in plain cloth in order to
easily penetrate the Boko Haram. More civilians should be trained as military spies
to monitor their activities and report back to the soldiers for a strategic
attack.
