Donga Mantung II Section Needs New Blood To Win 2018 Election-2013 Municipal List Leader

Though silence is still the case over when the reorganization of the CPDM basic structures of the party would take place nation wide, militants are already being conscious and taking dispositions in order not to be taken unaware when the time comes. This Reorganization fever lurking in the dark clouds of the political climate within the CPDM ranks is already taking grip of the entire Donga Mantung Division. Alhadji Abdou Kanfon Borno, List leader of the 2013 municipal election for Ndu subdivision says there is urgent need for new blood to be injected in to the Donga Mantung II section to ensure victory come 2018.

According to the award winner of the 2013 Press award on the category of Political endurance and youth emancipation as organized by The Eye Newspaper in Nkambe recently, Alhadji Borno says CPDM moved from 36 to 43 percent in the last twin election which is a mark of progress for the party in an area formerly considered as an opposition fief. To him victory was sure but for the last minutes adjustment on the party list of candidates for municipal and Parliamentary whisking him from a substantive Parliamentary candidate to a municipal list leader to have a gender balance. Many CPDM sympathizers and his admirers did not understand this last minute adjustment and thought that it was injustice meted to me which was not true. I tried to get them understand the party’s position was for the good of everybody but the time was so limited after preparing as parliamentary candidate for seven years. He says, “The opposition campaign team which initially was grounded by my candidature for Parliament took advantage of this adjustment to wipe sentiment from my admirers saying the CPDM can not be trusted pretending them that they of the opposition wanted my person to elected MP for Ndu. My plea to party hierarchy is that hence any such adjustment be made well ahead of time and that 80 percent of the candidate for Councilors be selected from the local population in order not to affect the input of aspirants.”

Talking on the reorganization, Alhadji Borno says all the basic party structures are still man by old people that lack the energy to move round and ignite the spirit of the party in the Section. To him the wise and old should be occupied with advisory positions in the party while young people having to energy and resources, take up these positions and make the party vibrant in anticipation to win overwhelmingly the up coming election come 2018.

Alhadji Borno as a youth emancipator braved it in the CPDM some 15 years ago and has successfully changed the mentally of the youth towards the CPDM party in Ndu Subdivision. He is in to large scale agriculture and has brought so many young people in to agriculture and founded a farmer group called NJANKA with a farm of over five hectares. The group cultivates soya beans, plantains, maize, oil palm plantation with a cattle ranch alongside with goats and sheep in the Mbaw plain. This initiative is to empower the youths and other elderly people in the group economically.
