Armed Robbers Bounce Back On Bamenda/Nkambe Road Robbed Passengers 2 km away From Gendarmerie Checkpoint Ignatius Nji Reports

Some unidentified arm robbers mounted a barricade on the night of Friday August 8 2014 just two kilometers away from a Gendarme Check point at Takija on the road to Nkambe from Kumbo. Passenger vehicles plying the road on that faithful night were way laid and ransacked money, phones and other belongings were stolen.
Interestingly these angels of darkness mounted their barricade just where an arm robber was killed and buried last year. The thieves forced a driver of one of the vehicles to off load the passengers after looting from them, transported the arm robbers to about few meters to the check point where they stopped the vehicle and dashed in to the bush and disappeared.
For a while now since the introduction of the rapid intervention unit of the military BIR, travelers on the Bamenda/Nkambe road have had some peace from the “coupe de route” armed robbers. With the recent development on the road the bad guys are back in full blown business. There is need for the BIR to re-launch rigorous surveillance patrol on that road to track down these enemies of peace.
